Learning Design & Development Specialist/Learning Support Services – II (Associate)

Qualifications:

Education:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree
• Preferred: Degree or certification in instructional design, education, training, or related field of study

Experience:
• Required
:
Minimum 5 years of related experience, with minimum 1 year of experience developing learning solutions (e.g., e-learning, instructor led courses, documents, exams, etc.); experience managing multiple low-medium complexity learning solution projects at once
• Preferred:
Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation, and learner-centered activities; experience managing / liaising with outsourced vendors to develop and/or provide learning content; experience developing blended learning solutions for different learning modalities (e.g., e-learning, classroom training, virtual training, etc.); knowledge of mobile learning requirements; knowledge of social learning concepts and application; knowledge of e-learning standards and LMS courseware integration with AICC and SCORM; knowledge of emerging and progressive content development tools and techniques; familiarity with content authoring tools / development technologies (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, HTML 5, etc.); knowledge or experience in creating reusable content / learning assets

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Divisional Learning Directors, Learning Partners, Learning Consultants and low –to-mid-level divisional management and Subject Matter Experts to conduct training needs analysis
• Recommend the build/buy/borrow approach for learning solutions
• Manage learning solution projects of low-to-moderate complexity including creating and executing the course design and development schedule, coordinating with the LSS Planning & Project Lead or Learning Design & Development Senior Specialist, etc., as required
• Adhere to standards, guidelines, templates, and taxonomies as established by the L&D Design & Measurement Standards group
• Manage outsourced design and development of courses / content by vendors, as applicable
• Complete learning design activities
o Identify learning solution / strategies (e.g., self-study/ILT, templates, assessment approach)
o Create learning solution design document
o Facilitate stakeholder reviews of learning design, including compliance / legal reviews as required o Coordinate with Learning Partners/Consultants to review and receive approval on final learning solution design
• Coordinate the gathering of content and subject matter knowledge from stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Ensure learning measurement strategy is embedded into design of learning solutions per standards and/or guidance from the L&D Design & Measurement Standards group
• Ensure the development of learning content, as outlined in the development plan, is leveraging design elements, needs analysis results, information from stakeholders/SMEs, content from the learning content management system (LCMS), adherence to all content classification standards, etc.
• Upload and/or update content in the LCMS
• Facilitate e-learning development by managing:
o Development of storyboards
o Development of content / assets o Translations, if required
o Localizations, if required
o Content import
o Publishing of course/content
o Course/content review o Assessments, question banks, questions
o Testing and fixing e-learning content, as appropriate
• Facilitate instructor-led course development by managing development of:
o Pre-work
o Participant materials
o Required handouts
o Instructor / facilitator guides
o Learning aids (e.g., posters)
• Coordinate and manage content reviews and sign-offs with stakeholders
• Partner with subject matter experts to design and facilitate Train-the-Trainer programs, if required
• Coordinate with Learning Administration Associate Specialists, Site Coordinators, and/or Virtual Learning Producers based on planned delivery methods
• Partner with Vendor Management Senior Specialists to support procurement of specific learning solutions/services, as required • Maintain / modify courses as needed
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify courses for retirement
• Coordinate the retirement of courses in the LCMS and LMS, as needed
• Incorporate feedback from learning evaluations into future design and development activities
• Identify and recommend potential development tools and updates to the Learning Design & Development Lead
